Custom Ear Plug Guide

If this is your first pair of custom ear plugs, congratulations!

Thank you for your recent order of custom hearing/ear protection. The following is a basic guide on how to insert, remove, and care for your ear plugs.

The Basics

Inserting and removing your ear plugs can be easily done with a rolling/rotating motion. Gently insert the ear canal portion of the ear plug with a rolling motion.

Tip: For the first week or two, apply a small amount of mineral oil (or baby oil) or Vaseline to your finger tips and gently rub the ear canal portion of your ear plugs. This will make inserting your ear plugs much more comfortable until you get familiar with the motion.

Maintenance

Follow these simple steps to ensure your custom ear plugs are properly maintained.

Cleaning: Simply wash with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. You may gently rub your plugs with a cloth to remove any debris. Repeat as necessary. You may also use hot/boiling water if necessary. Please ensure your ear plugs are fully dry and cooled prior to inserting your ear plugs into your ear.

Tip: Avoid the use of rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol or solvents when cleaning your ear plugs.

Storage: Store your ear plugs in a pouch and away from direct sunlight. Ensure that your ear plugs are fully dry prior to storage.

Tip: Avoid the use of Lanolin Oil or Emu Oil as they may contain compound that will crack or break down silicone.
