I hope this letter finds you in good health. I am writing to inform you that I will be taking a temporary leave from my medical practice at Imperial Medical Clinic and going on sabbatical. The leave will commence on March 25th 2024 and is anticipated to conclude on July 31st 2024.
During my absence, I will not be available for medical appointments but the medical team at Imperial Medical Clinic will be available to provide care as needed. However, please be aware that availability may be limited during this period and it may not always be possible to get an appointment on the preferred date and time. We are working on finding additional medical coverage during my absence and are hopeful we can find locums to work in the clinic to improve coverage.
If we are unable to accommodate your appointment for any reason, I suggest trying your local walk-in clinics or urgent care facilities. There are two urgent care facilities in Burnaby: Edmonds UPCC (#201-7315 Edmonds Street) and Metrotown UPCC (#102-4555 Kingsway). Please also be aware that BC pharmacists can now assess and treat 21 minor ailments such as UTIs, allergies, pink eye and dermatitis.
If you believe that you have a prescription that may run out during my absence, please make an appointment so that we can provide any necessary refills to ensure you have sufficient medication during this time. If you do run out of medication, please remember pharmacists can also often renew your prescription if necessary.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this temporary leave may cause and appreciate your understanding.
I look forward to resuming my practice and serving your healthcare needs upon my return.
Thank you for your trust and support.
Sincerely,
Dr Michael Healey
