FOR ALL PATIENTS OF DR. YOW-JENG FRANNY PAN, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE:
Dear All,
I would like to officially inform you that I will be beginning my maternity leave on March 18, 2023. My last day of appointment is March 17, 2023. Please note that all appointments from march 1st-17th will be telephone/video ONLY. I plan to take about 6 months off and will be returning to practice before the year ends.
During my maternity leave, I will not be available for any appointments. Should you require medical attention during my absence, please kindly call Imperial Medical Clinic and speak to our front desk staff to arrange appointments with an available doctor. Please be aware that availability is first come first served and may not always be possible on the date and time you requested. If we are unable to accommodate your appointment for any reason, I suggest trying your local walk-in clinics or urgent care facilities (UPCC) instead. There are two urgent care facilities in Burnaby: Edmonds and Metrotown location. In the event of emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest emergency room to seek further care.
Due to unpredictable nature of labour, delivery, and pregnancy, these dates may change without much warning. I will do my best to contact you via email if any of theses dates should suddenly change.
I look forward to working with you and your families again upon my return.

Imperial Medical Clinic is happy to welcome Dr. Dalbir Singh Makh.
Dr. Singh Makh is a full service family physician and is only accepting new family practice patients through the Burnaby Divisions of Family Practice registration. We are not able to register patients at the clinic due to this arrangement. For more information, please visit your local Divisions of Family Practice.
Current patients may now book follow up (telephone or video telehealth) appointments online with Dr. Singh Makh.

Uninsured Services Fee Change
Effective January 1, 2023 Imperial Medical Clinic will be charging recommended rates as per the Doctors of BC for uninsured services. These fees are subject to be revised again in April 2023. For more information, please visit the Doctors of BC website or the Government of BC.

Information for Patients on Out-of-Pocket Fees
Even if a BC resident is insured under the Medical Services Plan (MSP) and/or other affiliated medical plans (i.e. Blue Cross, Sun Life, etc.), not all services provided by a doctor are covered. These services are considered not medically required and are billed directly to the patient. Patients are encouraged to speak with their doctor regarding the fee(s) for the non-MSP-insured service requested and if needed, to work out a payment plan. Doctors of BC has established recommended fees for some non-MSP-insured (not covered) services to help guide doctors in setting a reasonable value for these services.

Infant and Children Acetaminophen/Ibuprofen Shortage
With the recent shortage of infant and children’s liquid and chewable tablets of acetaminophen (Tylenol®) and ibuprofen (Advil® or Motrin®), parents can
consider splitting and/or crushing adult tablets and mixing with a small amount of juice, apple sauce or pudding for use. Any extended–release products that are
used every 8 hours or more (e.g. Tylenol Arthritis®) should NOT be used in this way.
